A scoreboard's job is different from every other screen in a venue: it has to communicate score, time, period, and stats clearly, at a glance, from the cheap seats, while still looking like part of a modern broadcast. That's a design problem before it's an animation problem: typography has to hold up at distance, data fields have to update instantly without looking like a spreadsheet, and the surrounding motion graphics can't compete with the numbers for attention.
We design scoreboard packages around the specific data your venue's system feeds in (box scores, shot clocks, penalty timers, pitch counts, down and distance) and build the animated frame, transitions, and sponsor real estate around it.
Scoreboards and jumbotrons often sit side by side in the same venue, but they do different jobs. A scoreboard is a live data display (score, clock, stats) refreshed constantly during play. A jumbotron or video board is a full-motion video canvas used for replays, hype intros, and sponsor spots between plays. We design scoreboard content to stay legible and out of the way during live action, and reserve the bigger visual moments for the video board.
